Pat comments in a note with the pictures of his car:
"Years ago, my father and I restored about 6 various model A's, 1950 Willis Jeepster, 1950 Ford Coupe and a 1919 Cadillac over a period of 20 years so I am not a total newbie. The 912 is a car my Dad introduced me to in 1969 while in Odessa Texas at the VW dealership. They had a mustard yellow 912 my Dad and the salesman dickered over for weeks until it was finally sold. He went ahead and bought an Austin Healey Sprite which we raced in the local SCCA meets at the Chaparral Rattlesnake raceway for 5 years. I had always wished he had bought the Porsche 912 as they were always beating the stuffin' outta the Sprite since they were in the same class."
