Alex Holcombe's Album

1/10/11:
Here's an update on Alex's 912E.
Thought I'd give you an update on the E. I've finally started to work on painting it. After staring at the car and being a little intimidated for a year I decided to finally jump in. It started one afternoon with successfully taking the front windshield out and kept going from there. I've also got almost all of the interior out, but the wide-slotted screw on the back seats is tight and I don’t have anything that's wide enough to get it loose.
I found some superficial rust in the corners of the front windshield and along the back window, and there were a few other minor spots that I've sanded and treated with POR15, but overall it was really minor.
I've started sanding the car to prep it for painting. Once everything is ready I plan on rolling on Brightside primer and paint in white.
Once I get done with the paint I plan on putting in a new headliner and carpet. Then it will be time to do the front suspension pan. I may hit you guys up for some help with that, so let me know what kind of bbq and beer I can use to lure you down in a couple months.
Hope all is well and I'm looking forward to getting everything complete and back together so I can start driving her again!

This is the day Alex picked up the car after purchasing it from Morrie. Look at that new owner smile!
