This year we again joined the early longhood 911 guys for the South Central Rendezvous. For those of you who joined their event last year or this year, you know they have the same plan as we do for an event, socialize, drive and have fun.

The hotel this year was a big step up from the previous one, which was shelter with a little too much character and charm for most of us. The Inn of the Hills Resort and Conference Center took good care of us and made for a great base of operations.

We had a welcoming "get-together" on Friday where the weather was nice. We were able to have an outdoor BBQ in the parking lot where folks were able to greet attendees as they arrived and check out each other's cars. Saturday's drive was said my many to be one of the best drives ever. We went together to Fredericksburg for lunch and time on the town. After lunch, the drive back to Kerrville via either a direct route or suggested touristic one. Saturday evening we had our dinner and awards ceremony in the "BlueBonnet" room of the hotel. Sunday morning after brunch folks each had individual drives home, or went in groups to enjoy the return. With the only mishap being a broken clutch cable on one of the early 911s as he (almost unbelievably) turned into the hotel parking lot, the event was a great success.
