South Central Rendezvous 2007

Dates:
May 4th-6th 2007

Location:
Comfort, TX (less than an hour from San Antonio on I-10)

Accommodations:

We stayed in Comfort at the Meyer Bed and Breakfast. The B&B is located on beautiful Cypress Creek.
The fellow that now owns and operates the Meyer Bed & Breakfast in Comfort actually owned the Kendall Inn where we stayed last year (he owned it about seven years ago). This is a wonderful place, the only complaint was that we did not have more time to spend there... but, you see, there are these roads...

Friday, May 4th:

Friday's tour was just a small taste of the beautiful area and scenic vistas that were to come Saturday. We spent Friday afternoon warming up for Saturday's drive with a trip to the Lone Star Motorcycle Museum, and dinner that evening at the Welfare Cafe. Follow the links below for some pictures from these sites.

Saturday, May 5th:

Saturday events included drives, scenic views, interesting local stops, and plenty of friends and fresh air. We kept meals simple this year; having dinner at a local places where you can order what you want, and pay for what you get. Having said that, I have to say that the dinners we had were some of the best food you will find anywhere, in some of the most interesting locations. Tarpley was one of our whistle stops, so close to Utopia you could almost see it!

Sunday, May 6th:

Sunday we met for breakfast and most of us headed for home, while a few stayed behind to see how far one of us could take their car apart in the parking lot of the hotel. Paul came close to getting the car back together after a front wheel bearing failure, but the parts just wouldn't come together. With the assistance of Greg and Kittie, he sourced a replacement strut and had himself back on the road for home by mid week. On top of planning a fantastic weekend, Greg and Kittie made sure everyone to the last made it home safe.
