Fourth Annual Roundup

Calling all 912 owners, fans, and Longhood Enthusiasts!

It’s time to party! Lets all get together January 21st in Austin for the fourth annual January Lone Star 912 Roundup. This is a great opportunity to get out of the house and run that car! I have reserved the conference center at my office park like we did two years ago so we will have plenty of room for cars and a place to visit indoors if the weather is bad. We’ll have some Longhood and Lone Star 912 grille badges for sale at deep discounts, plus some door prizes.

We’ll plan to gather between 9 and 10 am with coffee, juice, and rolls to go along with conversation and cars. Local enthusiasts John and Edie Musgrove are planning to be there with their new Cayman so we can all take a look first hand at the latest thing from Porsche. A photo session with the group will happen around 10:30 with a scenic drive to follow at 11. We'll be driving out to Canyon Lake to visit Ron Maxwell's restoration shop and see the 73RS he is currently working on. We’ll stop along the way at around 1pm for lunch and finish up around 3pm back at the office park so everyone who wants to can get home before it gets too late in the day.

I need a rough headcount so please RSVP to this mail and let me know if you think you will be able to attend so I can make sure and have enough space, food and all of that for the gang. If you know anyone who would like to come, feel free to invite them; just let me know the count.

To help offset my expenses for food, conference center rental, etc I would like each of you bringing a car to consider donating $9.12 to the Lone Star 912 via the donation link on the Lone Star 912 Homepage. If you want to give more, less, or nothing at all, that’s fine. This is completely optional, but help is appreciated.

It is located just to the south (a little over 3 lights) of RM620, which will allow you to access it from IH35 if you are coming from the north. If you are coming in from the south, you can catch the Research Blvd exit off of IH35 and follow it to the Lake Creek Parkway exit; the office park is just to the south of Lake Creek Parkway on the southbound frontage road of 183. If all else fails, call Morrie at 512-422-0234 and he will guide you in.
