What a day! it was cloudy and quite cold here in South Texas but our cars were thankful for it. Here's some pics that I took.

The first shot is our average speed on the Interstate, let by 356 Cab owner Mark Roth. Note the speed for later comparison on the track.

We arrived at the track just as a run group was getting ready to go out. This was comprised of a ton of Boxters and newer 911's (996's etc.) as well as some really smokin older 911's. The one MINI with a stinger muffler and it's 8" wheels (and I don't mean width, but height!) was fun to see.
These guys were screaming down the track and it sure got my blood pumping... Finally, just around 12:30, they were going to take a little break from the run groups and said we could line up behind the pace car...

We're ready to go... first 1/2 of the cars

Second 1/2 of our group. Here you can see the two lone 912's from Brian and myself.

Here we are on the straightaway... the picture was taken at an angle so it doesn't appear as steep as it actually was.

remember when I noted our speed on the Interstate, well here it was - our top speed - on the track... @#$%#@@# pace car...

Well, it was still worth it. Even though we didn't go fast (and I use that word very loosely based on the other cars around there), we took 5 laps! Normally on the 'open house' laps, you get no more than 2...

All in all it was great - I definitely will be back to participate in the Drivers Education at some time and REALLY learn my car's limits.
