Lone Star Roundup 1-18-03
Here's a list of who came, how they got there, and how far they came,
estimated by Mapquest.
I'll go oldest car to newest:
David Gilliland arrived first in his red 66 912. He hails from Heath, Texas
and drove his 912. Heath is in the vicinity of Dallas. He came 210
miles to join us.
Greg Bade also drove in with his Grey 66 912. Greg hails from Houston,
TX and also drove his car. He came 180 miles in his 912.
Clay McGuill is from Oak Hill, just south of Austin. His 66 912 is
stripped and a chassis on blocks. Clay drove his Jeep as our support
vehicle. He came 30 miles to join the fun.
Morrie Larson lives in Cedar Park, TX, just north of Austin. He cheated and
had the whole thing start at his house! zero miles..... what a wimp!
Troy Berreth drove his Teal 68 912 in from Katy, Texas, near Houston. He came
160 miles to join the fun.
Kevin Weldon's 69 is down and being repaired so he was unable to drive it in.
Kevin came from Dallas in his truck and drove about 190 miles.
The final 912 in our group is a 76 912E and came in from Webster, TX and was
driven by its owner, Dean Justin. Webster is near Houston, making his drive
about 210 miles.
Here's some press we got from the local paper in Katy, Texas:
